01How fast do you respond to a rate request? +
Within 15 minutes during business hours, and within 1 hour anytime else — 24/7. Submit a rate request through our booking form, or call 519-489-4700 for an instant quote.
02Do you handle bonded freight and in-bond shipments? +
Yes. We hold bonded carrier status and regularly handle in-bond shipments crossing CBSA and CBP. PARS, PAPS, and ACE/ACI eManifest submissions are filed proactively, and our customs coordinator (Akashdeep Singh) tracks every cross-border load end-to-end.
03What's the maximum cargo value you'll haul? +
Standard cargo insurance covers high-value loads on every shipment. For loads exceeding our standard limit, we can arrange additional coverage on a per-load basis with 24 hours notice. We routinely move loads valued $1M+ in aerospace, biopharma, and entertainment freight.
04Do you offer dedicated lanes or contract pricing? +
Yes — we offer dedicated lane pricing and weekly/monthly contract rates for shippers and receivers moving 3+ loads per week. Our Ontario ↔ California daily LTL service is a perfect example. Contact us for a custom lane analysis.
05How does the claims process work? +
Notify us within 7 days of delivery for any cargo concerns. Our safety manager (Karan) personally handles every claim — we acknowledge within 1 business day, investigate within 5 business days, and resolve most claims within 30 days. Photos, BOL, POD, and any commercial invoices speed this up.
06Can you provide drop trailers at our facility? +
Yes — drop-and-hook trailer programs are available for shippers and receivers with consistent weekly volume. We provide 53ft dry van or temperature-controlled trailers at your dock, then swap on pickup. Reduces dwell time and gives your team flexibility to load when ready.
07How do I become a regular shipper or set up an account? +
Send a credit application and shipper packet to dispatch@trans-link.ca, or request a carrier packet from our online form. Most shippers are approved within 48 hours. Once approved, you get net-30 terms, online booking access, and a dedicated account manager.
08What equipment do you operate? +
53ft dry vans (air-ride suspension), 53ft temperature-controlled reefers, and step-deck/flatbed for oversized. All trailers are equipped with Samsara GPS, electronic door locks, DM Tracks hidden trailer tracking, and E-Track interior load securement. Fleet is fully late-model and well-maintained.
09Do you handle HAZMAT shipments? +
Yes — all our drivers are HAZMAT endorsed and we carry the placards, paperwork, and emergency response protocols for Classes 3, 8, 9. Send us the SDS and UN number with your rate request and we'll confirm coverage and any special routing required.
10How do I track my shipment in real time? +
Once your load is dispatched, you receive a Samsara live tracking link via email and (if requested) SMS notifications at every milestone — pickup confirmed, en route, border crossed, delivered. The driver's name and direct cell are also shared, so you can reach them anytime. Brokers can also use our "Track Your Load" tool with any PRO or load number.
11What's your payment terms and factoring policy? +
Standard terms are net-30 from POD. Quick-pay options available for shippers needing faster turn. We don't factor — direct payment ensures our drivers are paid faster and we maintain control of every customer relationship.
12What if my load needs to be picked up today or after hours? +
Same-day pickup is almost always possible — call 519-489-4700 (24/7) and we'll have a truck dispatched within 1-2 hours from Ayr, Los Angeles, or Minneapolis depending on origin. Expedited and team-driver options are standard, not an upcharge surprise.
13Do you handle oversized or overdimensional loads? +
Yes — step-deck, flatbed, and overdimensional permitted loads up to legal limits in each province/state. We coordinate permits, escort vehicles, and routing. Send dimensions, weight, and pickup window and we'll come back with a turnkey rate including all required permits.
14How do I request a Certificate of Insurance (COI)? +
Email dispatch@trans-link.ca with your company name and certificate holder details — COI sent within 1 hour during business hours. You can also be added as an additional insured at no charge. We're fully RMIS verified and our packet refreshes automatically.
