What this site collects

The site has five forms that collect information. Nothing is collected unless you fill in and submit one of the five forms. Browsing the site does not require you to provide any information.

Book a truck — book.html

Collected so dispatch can price and schedule a load: your name, company name, email address, phone number, pickup date and time, pickup and delivery addresses, service type, weight, piece count, commodity, declared cargo value, any special-handling selections (temperature control, hazmat, high value, oversized, appointment, liftgate), free-text notes, and whether you want email or SMS notifications.

Contact / quote request — contact.html

Collected so dispatch can respond to your enquiry: your name, company, phone number, email address, service of interest, pickup date, origin, destination, and free-text load details.

Rate request — coverage.html

Collected so dispatch can quote a lane: your name, email address, company name, phone number, origin, destination, service type, equipment needed, weight, commodity, load value, pickup date, and free-text notes. Your name and email address are required, because without them a rate request cannot be answered.

Broker capacity enquiry — brokers.html

Collected so dispatch can answer a freight broker about a lane: your name, business email address, brokerage name, phone number, origin, destination, equipment needed, pickup date, and free-text notes. Name, email, brokerage, origin, destination and equipment are required. This form accepts no documents and no financial, insurance or identity information.

Shipment status — brokers.html

Nothing is collected here. The shipment-status section on brokers.html has no form and no input box: it explains that Trans Link does not offer online self-serve tracking and gives you the phone, WhatsApp and email routes to dispatch. Earlier versions of the page carried a “Track your load” box and a simulated tracker; both have been removed, so there is nothing on the page to type a load number into and nothing is sent anywhere.

Driver application — careers.html

Collected to assess an application for a driving position: first and last name, phone number, email address, city, licence class, years of experience, cross-border eligibility, position type, and a free-text message.

The site accepts PDF, DOC and DOCX for a resume, and PDF, JPG and PNG for the abstract and licence photo. A 10 MB size limit is applied in your browser before upload. These checks run in your browser and are a convenience, not a security control.

How submissions are transmitted and handled

This website is a set of static pages with no application server of its own. It cannot store your submission itself and does not send email.

The site is hosted on Netlify, and the five collecting forms are handled by Netlify Forms. When you submit a form, your browser posts it over HTTPS to trans-link.ca, where Netlify receives and stores it and makes it available to Trans Link. Uploaded files are transmitted the same way. Netlify therefore processes everything you submit, including the documents attached to a driver application.

The whole site is served over HTTPS and is configured to require it, so submissions are encrypted in transit.

Each form includes a hidden anti-spam field. If it is filled in, the submission is treated as automated. You will not see this field.

Other services your browser contacts

The web fonts this site uses are served from this site. Loading a page does not cause your browser to contact Google, or any other font host, for them; unless you accept analytics (below), no third party sees your IP address or which page you were reading. This was not always true: the fonts were loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com until they were moved here.

The site links to WhatsApp (wa.me) and Instagram. Those are ordinary links — nothing is sent to either service unless you click through, and your use of them is then covered by their own terms.

Analytics runs only with your consent. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and to see which pages, contact links and forms visitors use. It starts only after you choose Accept on the consent notice. Until then, and if you choose Decline, the analytics script loads nothing, contacts no one and sets no identifier. When it does run, the configuration requests IP anonymisation and switches Google signals (advertising features and cross-device linking) off. Nothing you type into a form is sent to Google: the events record that a form was started, submitted or failed to send, which service was chosen, which page it happened on, which page you arrived on, whether that page addresses shippers, freight brokers or drivers, and which contact link was clicked. Your name, email address, phone number, address, message, any reference number and the name of any file you attach are never among them. Google receives this data on its own servers under its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes the consent choice and the analytics cookies; the notice then asks you again.

Storage in your browser

Until you accept analytics, this site sets no cookies. It uses your browser's own storage for three things, all of which stay on your device:

• trans-link-lang — the language you chose, so the site keeps it on your next visit.
• tl_cookie — whether you accepted or declined the consent notice, so you are not asked again.
• tl_landing — the page you arrived on, so an enquiry can be credited to the page that prompted it. Written only if you accept analytics, held for the browsing session only, and discarded when you close the tab. If we start counting part-way through your visit it records that the arrival page is unknown rather than guessing one.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all three, and closing the tab removes tl_landing on its own. None of them is sent to Trans Link. The arrival page is the one thing here that also reaches Google Analytics, as a page address and nothing more. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics also sets its own cookies on this site (_ga and one whose name begins with _ga_) to tell returning browsers apart. They are not set before you accept, and clearing site data removes them together with the consent choice.

What this policy does not determine

The following are set by Trans Link's internal practice and by its hosting configuration, not by the website's code. They are deliberately not stated here rather than estimated:

• how long submissions and uploaded documents are retained, and how they are deleted
• which country or region submissions are stored in
• who inside Trans Link can access submissions
• whether any recipient other than Netlify and Trans Link receives them
• the process for requesting access to, correction of, or deletion of what you submitted
